COLOMBO (News 1st) - UNP MP Nalin Bandara states that they are "doing their best effort" to restrict the Cabinet of Ministers to 30 adding that they are attempting to ensure that the number of deputy ministers and state ministers do not exceed 40.
Addressing a media briefing at Temple Trees the MP noted that if there are members of the SLFP who are interested in joining the UNP Government, they would carefully vet them prior to making a decision on accepting them into the fold.
Responding to a question raised by a journalist on whether UNP Colombo district MP Ravi Karunanayake would receive the position of Minister of Finance, a position he held previously under the previous Government, Bandara stated that he would definitely receive a ministerial portfolio but added that he was not aware of which portfolio would be awarded to him.
