This was a fight against MI6 and CIA not Ranil - Gammanpila

Colombo (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Freedom Party convened a media briefing in Colombo today (Dec 15). MP Bandula Gunawardena stated that Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned from his position because until the relevant court proceedings are completed, the president cannot appoint a new prime minister or cabinet and this would have resulted in the public sector employees not being given their salaries from next year onwards. Therefore MP Bandula noted that MR resigned to prevent the people from facing a crisis. MP Udaya Gammanpila stated that the foreign ambassadors can rest well because their wishes have been fulfilled. He went on to state that this fight was not against Karu Jayasuriya or even Ranil Wickremesinghe but a fight against foreign secret services such as America's CIA and Britain's MI6. He added that they will now be able to see how the UNP dances to the tune of the UNP.
