Colombo (News 1st) - Distribution of uniforms and school equipment for students of low-income families in Colombo District took place at the Pradeepa Hall in Malligawatte today (Dec 8). The event which was organized by the Mohommad Akram foundation for the 26th time was graced by Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake and Western Provincial councilor Susil Kindelpitiya. Ravi Karunanayake stated that due to many degrading acts, children are the ones that suffer the most. He stated that Lalith Athulathmudali who was one of his political leaders always looked at situations from a perspective of "what is right?" rather than "who is right?"  He stated that at this point what is right, is thinking of a way that Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers can live peacefully and happily. Susil Kindelpitiya noted that when the war was ended everybody expected the ruling family to develop the country and spend the money saved from the war on education. He stated that this did not happen and instead the money was robbed. He then noted that even though 8th of Jan 2015 brought about a change, the expected result was not delivered. And now for the first time in history, there is no budget in the country.
