Colombo (News 1st) - A student and a teacher have been arrested over using a mobile phone to cheat during the G. C. E. Ordinary examination.
Police stated that the student was a private candidate at a school in Balangoda and has used texting to communicate with the teacher who was on examination duty at another school.
This incident took place yesterday during the O/L English paper.
Police further noted that both the suspects were to be produced before the court today.
Commissioner General of Examinations, Sanath B. Poojitha stated that according to the Public Examinations Act of Sri Lanka the suspects will be penalized for their fraudulent acts.
