The five fishermen aboard "Kavindu Putha" trawler rescued

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The five fishermen on board the multi-day fishing trawler, that met with an accident after leaving the Kudawella fisheries harbour in Matara, were rescued this afternoon (December 02). The vessel had met with an accident at around 1.00 am last morning (December 01) when they were around 250 nautical miles off the Kudawella fisheries harbour. A ship had collided with the vessel. Five fishermen who were struggling for their lives in the deep seas were saved by another fishing trawler that set off to sea from Dikwella.
