Heavy rains forecasted

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Issuing a weather advisory this afternoon (December 02) the Department of Meteorology stated that rainfall is expected to enhance over the island tonight. Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces while the rest of the island will experience showers or thundershowers after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm could also be expected at some places in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Misty conditions may occur at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces during the early morning.
