COLOMBO (News 1st) 1. Parliament is due to convene at 10.30 AM today (November 30). 2. President Maithripala Sirisena will meet with the leaders of the United National Front and the Opposition Leader in an extraordinary meeting scheduled for this evening. 3. The motion to curtail the expenditure to the Office of the Prime Minister was passed by a majority of 123 votes, with no opposition in parliament yesterday (November 29). 4. Minister Wijeydasa Rajapakshe breaking rank with his ministerial colleagues, attended parliament in support of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. 5. The Presidential Secretariat has summoned a report from the commissioner general of prisons on the incident where drug trafficker Sunil Shantha fled prison. 6. The bodies of 2 police officers who were on duty at a roadblock in Batticaloa have been discovered near the roadblock. 7. The TNA has informed the President they would extend their support to establish a United National Front led Government as it was the status quo that existed before the 26th of October. 8. Police have arrested three men who broke into and stole from Samurdhi Banks in Dompe, Panadura South and Mahiyanganaya. 9. The Beneficial Owner of Perpetual Treasuries Arjun Aloysius and its CEO Kasun Palisena, have been further remanded until the 4th of December. 10. Three women died while another 19 individuals sustained injuries in an accident that occurred in Naththandiya, Walahapitiya.
