Colombo (News 1st) – Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne appeared before the Fort Magistrate’s court this morning over his alleged involvement in the case of harboring Former Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi of the Sri Lanka Navy.

CDS Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne appeared before the court today and surrendered himself for arrest. Fort Magistrate ordered the CID to take necessary action to arrest Admiral Wijegunaratne if there is sufficient evidence to prove that he had aided and abetted Navy Sampath, to evade court.

Former Lieutenant Commander, Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias Navy Sampath was involved in the abduction and forced disappearance of 11 youth.
