Two apprehended with teak in Athimale

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Teak wood valued at over Rs. 1.5 Million has been seized by the police in Kandurugoda Wiloya in Athimale. The arrest was made following a tipoff to the STF of the Siyambalanduwa police. The raid was conducted jointly by the officers of the special task force and the Athimale police early this morning (November 27). Police said the teak wood was being smuggled in the guise of transporting Husk. Two suspects have been arrested over the incident and are due to be produced before the Siyambalanduwa Magistrates court.
