Police accidentally shoots two

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two people were injured following an accidental discharge of a Police Officer's firearm in Akkarai-Pattu this morning (November 27). The Police Media Unit said the incident had taken place when the Police were carrying out a special night-time operation in the area. The police noted that they had ordered a motorcyclist without a helmet to stop, but that the rider had attempted to flee. It was then the weapon was discharged unintentionally.
