Parliament is due to
convene at 1.00 pm today (November 27). The
public gallery and all other
viewing galleries will be closed at
parliamentary sessions today.

Chief Justice Nalin Perera appointed a
07 member bench yesterday (November 26) to
examine the petitions filed
challenging the gazette notification to
dissolve parliament.

Railway Trade Unions stated that the
strike launched by the
train drivers following an attack by an unknown group of people will continue. The train drivers have now
refrained from the transportation of fuel.

Labourers attached to Tea Estates across a number of districts including Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Kandy launched a
token strike yesterday (November 26) demanding their
daily wage to be increased up to Rs. 1000.

Matara was
arrested this morning (November 27).
9. The
water supply for several areas in the
Kaluthara district will be
disrupted for 15 hours from
8.30 am today (November 27).

US Space agency NASA has sucessfully landed a
new robot named the
"insight robot" to study the
interior of the
planet Mars.
