COLOMBO (News 1st) – Doctors and other Health officials in the Uva Province are striking to resolve problems pertaining to their over time.

President of the Nursing, Supplementary and Interim United front of UVA Province A. Rathnayake said the strike is in effect at all hospitals in the Uva Province. The secretary at the Diyathalawa branch of the Government medical officers association H.M.H.C Bandara said, the authorities have failed to provide a solution to their overtime request.

Meanwhile, a protest was also held opposite the Diyathalawa hospital this morning charging the salaries of the Doctors, Nurses and Labors have not been paid for the past two months.
