Woman arrested with over 19,000 foreign cigarettes

Colombo (News1st) - A woman was arrested at the BIA this morning along with a stock of foreign cigarettes. Asst. Customs Spokesperson Vipula Minuwanpitiya noted that the suspect had over 19,900 cigarettes in her possession valued at around Rs. 990,000 The suspect had returned to the country from Dubai. The stock of cigarettes was discovered when her luggage was examined. The 49-year-old suspect is a resident of Madurankuliya.
