Motion against PM's secretary presented to Speaker

COLOMBO (News 1st): A motion was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today (November 19), stating that the Secretary to the Prime Minister "does not have any power to use funds of the Republic". The motion was presented by;

The speaker's office said the motion will be taken up for consideration on the 29th of November. The speaker also condemned the recent incidents that took place in Parliament and has said it is the responsibility of all parties to prevent such unpleasant incidents from recurring. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya added that relevant authorities have already been informed to present a report following investigations into each and every act of disciplinary breach in Parliament.
