COLOMBO (News 1st) – Three suspects have been arrested at the BIA for smuggling gold biscuits valued at over Rs. 14 million into the country.

Deputy Director of Customs Vipula Minuwampitiya said the suspects had smuggled biscuits to the island from India.

48 gold biscuits valued at approximately Rs.14,398,860 were seized.

The Deputy Director noted that the suspects who have been identified as residents of Kandy and are currently being interrogated.
