MR calls on Amarapura Chief Prelate

Colombo (News1st) - Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa met the Chief Prelate of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Chapter Most Venerable Kotugoda Dhmaavaasa thera this afternoon. The meeting took place at the Sri Dharmapalaramaya in Mt. Lavinia. The chief prelate conducted a pirith ceremony and invoked blessings on the Prime Minister. Speaking to the PM, Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero noted that through the media, the people are able to witness the destruction caused by foreign nations interfering in other countries. He called on PM Rajapaksa not to let such a situation arise in the country and instead lead it down a path of development whilst not forgetting to resolve the problems faced by the people of the country.
