Six arrested with Heroin in Kuliyapitiya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Six suspects have been arrested for the alleged possession of 101 g Heroin in Meegahakotuwa, Kuliyapitiya. The arrest was made in a raid carried out by the officials at the Anti-Narcotics Bureau last night (November 11). The Police confirmed that three drug dealers were among those arrested. Police said that an official of the Anti-Narcotics bureau had opened fire in order to arrest a suspect that attempted to flee the location. Police further noted that the sergeant who chased the suspect was admitted to hospital due to minor injuries. The seized heroin was valued at over a million. Meanwhile a car used for transporting heroin was also taken to custody. The suspects were produced before the Kuliyapitya Magistrates' court and were remanded for seven days
