COLOMBO (News 1st) – Issuing the latest weather advisory the Meteorology Department warns that a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the central part of the South Bay of Bengal sea area in the next few days and that it is possible to move towards Sri Lanka.
The General public, Naval and fishing communities are requested to pay attention to advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-central, and Uva provinces. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm may occur at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Uva and North-western provinces and in the Ampara and Hambantota districts.
Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
