President and PM engages in religious activities

Colombo (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena visited the Somawathie Chaitiya this morning while Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Kataragama Sacred area. The ‘Jalanimna-Haritha Arana’ Tree Planting Programme implemented commenced under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena today after a symbolic Karanda tree planting in the sacred area of Somawathiya. The President also visited the Somawathiya temple for religious observances. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Kirivehera Raja Maha Viharaya and later visited the Maha Devale in Kataragama.
