Injured elephant calf found near Kilinochchi Forest Reserve

Colombo (News1st): A five-month-old baby elephant, which has been attacked by a crocodile, was found by the residents of a village nearby to the Kilinochchi forest reserve. News1st correspondent in the area said the elephant which is three feet tall has been admitted to the Girithale Wildlife Hospital. According to the veterinarians of the hospital three of its legs have been injured in the attack and the elephant is currently recovering.
