Spill gates of Victoria & Thabbowa reservoirs opened

Colombo (News1st): According to the Disaster Management Centre the spill gates of the Victoria and Thabbowa reservoirs have been opened due to incessant rains. The Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority said two spill gates of the Victoria reservoir were opened automatically last night. Engineer K. T. B. Rajarathne in charge of reservoirs said Randenigala and Rantambe reservoirs are reaching spill level. The Mahaweli Development Authority requested locals living in close proximity to the Randenigala and Rantambe reservoirs to remain vigilant.
