Three spill gates of the Parakrama Samudraya opened

Colombo (News1st): Three spill gates of the Parakrama Samudraya have been opened due to heavy rainfall experienced in Polonnaruwa. Issuing a media release, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said four spill gates of Rajanganaya and Deduru Oya reservoirs have also been opened as a result of the heavy rainfall. According to the DMC, spills gates of the Angamuwa reservoir and the Kukuleganga reservoir have also been opened. The DMC has urged residents of low lying areas to be vigilant of the prevailing weather conditions.
