Colombo (News1st): The Ministry of Health warns there is a risk of mosquitoes spreading close to schools. According to Community Specialist Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, during the recent Dengue Prevention Week 3411 schools were subject to inspections and 477 schools were found to contain breeding grounds for mosquito larvae.
Red Notices have been issued for the respective schools and a circular has been issued to the Principal to take immediate steps to destroy and clean the breeding grounds for mosquito larvae. Dr. Samaraweera noted a special mosquito eradication program will take place on the 1st and 2nd of November.
