England wins the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka

Colombo (News1st): England won the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka today by 18 runs according to the Duckworth Lewis Method. The victory gave England an unassailable 3- nil lead in the ODI series. Today's match commenced at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Following the toss win, England decided to field first. Niroshan Dikwella and Sadeera Samarawickrema came in as the openers and Dikwella scored 52 runs. Dasun Shanaka scored 66 Thisara Perera scored 44. Akila Dhananjaya was unbeaten on 32. Spinner Moeen Ali bagged 2 wickets in 10 overs after conceding 55 runs. In the allotted 50 overs Sri Lanka scored 273 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Replying to a target of 274, English Opener Alex Hales was sent back to the dressing room for 12 runs. Jason Roy scored 45. With 132 runs on the scoreboard, the English were down 2 wickets and the match was stopped as rain interrupted play at the 27th over. This meant that the officials had to resort to the DL method which gave England an 18 run victory.
