Colombo (News1st): Australian media reports the brother of a prominent Australian sportsperson may have been involved in setting up the 25-year-old Kamer Nizamdeen over an alleged Sydney terror plot.
Charges against Nizamdeen were formally dropped by New South Wales police yesterday (October 19) after he spent 40 days in a supermax jail accused of planning an ISIS-inspired terror plot.
Police are now investigating whether Kameer was framed and believe the brother of a high-profile Australian sportsperson may have been involved.
Nizamdeen's lawyer Moustafa Kheir told reporters that the entire ordeal was "unforgivable" and his client would be suing the state.
