Govt. to ban importation of peanuts and Oried

Colombo (News1st): The government has decided to ban the importation of peanuts and oried seeds from next year, said Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture. He added that plans have been drawn to double the taxes on grains including corn and green gram from next year. He said this program will be implemented to promote local food crops.
