Colombo (News1st): Prices of vegetables continued to remain high in both Pettah and Dambulla markets yesterday (October 11) as a result of supply disruptions occurred due to heavy rainfalls. The daily price report issued by CBSL showed a significant increase in the price of tomatoes.
Prices of beans, carrots, cabbage and etc. were increased by more than 5% compared to the previous weeks' average price.

The reports showed over 5% price increase of local red onions, potatoes, and coconuts compared to the previous week. This is due to the low supply from Puttalam and Jaffna areas.

However, the prices of rice remained unchanged while the prices of fish demonstrated mix movements in both Negombo and Peliyagoda markets.
