One injured following train accident in Vekunugoda

Colombo (News1st): One person was injured when a car collided with a train plying from Aluthgama to Galle. The accident occurred near the Vekunugoda level crossing. The News1st correspondent in the area said the driver of the car sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya teaching hospital. He further noted the car was dragged for 75 - 100 meters after the collision. Area residents said a gatekeeper was not present at the time of the accident.
