Colombo (News 1st) – The Presidential Task Force on Drug Eradication issuing a statement noted that they have lodged a complaint with the CID to investigate if Namal Kumara had engaged in fraudulent activities posing as an employee of the Presidential Secretariat.
Issuing a communique, the Director of the Task Force Dr. Samantha Kithalawarachchi said his only link to the presidential secretariat was his work as a volunteer on the Presidential Task Force on Drug Eradication.
The release notes that more than 20,000 people volunteer to serve in the Presidential Task Force on Drug Eradication from the Divisional Secretariats.
It notes that Namal Kumara residing in Warakapola, had joined the Task Force as a volunteer for the Kegalle District.
The release goes on to say that documents at the Presidential Secretariat confirms that the person in question had NOT served at the Presidential Task Force on Drug Eradication nor received a salary from the Presidential Secretariat.
