UPDATE : MP Vijayakala Maheswaran released on bail of Rs. 500,000

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Former State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran arrested this morning (October 08) by the Police Organized Crimes Division was released on a surety bail of Rs. 500,000 by the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court.   10.59 am - Former State Minister, Vijayakala Maheswaran was arrested by the Police Organized Crimes Division. Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the arrest was made in the morning today (October 08) when she had arrived with her lawyers at the Police Organized Crimes Division to record a statement. The former State Minister was called over to record a statement on the recent comment she had made on the LTTE organization. She is due to be presented before the Colombo Magistrate Courts today (October 08).
