U.S.'s Pompeo lands in Beijing amid tensions with China

Reuters - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday (October 8) landed in Beijing where he was expected to meet with his Chinese counterpart and other top officials during a period of increased tensions with China. Pompeo said that in Beijing if it was like previous visits, he would meet the Chinese government's top diplomat, Foreign Minister, and State Councillor Wang Yi, and his predecessor Yang Jiechi. On Sunday (October 7), Pompeo met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang during his fourth visit to North Korea for denuclearization talks with North Korea.
