Tenure of the Central Provincial Council ends today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The tenure of the central provincial council ends today (October 08). An official of the Elections Commission said the authority of the provincial council will be handed over to the Governor of the province. The tenure of the Northwestern provincial council is due to end on the 25th of this month. While the tenure of the Southern and Western provincial councils will end on the 10th and 21st of April next year and the Uva provincial council ends on the 8th of September next year. The tenure of the Northcentral, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern provinces expired in September last year.
