Baddegama residents asked to be vigilant

Colombo (News1st): The Disaster Management Center urges the public residing in Baddegama to be vigilant towards the rising water levels of Attanagalla Oya and the Gin river. Its Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili said that alternative routes in several areas have also been inundated. Two deaths were reported from Kalutara district due to adverse weather condition. A 42-year-old male died after he was washed away by strong currents in Wettawa, Matugama due to heavy showers that prevailed in the area yesterday (October 06) Meanwhile, a dead body of a woman was found from Meegahathenna area. Police said support will be sought for the Sri Lanka Navy to recover the body.
