Adverse weather conditions claims a life

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A tragic incident was reported owing to the adverse weather conditions where one individual died due to a tree that uprooted in the Lower Kadugannawa area along the Colombo-Kandy Main road this afternoon (October 05). The police said steps are being taken to remove the uprooted tree which caused a heavy traffic jam in the area. The News 1st correspondent in the area said that around 20 houses were damaged as a result of the strong winds that blew through the area.
