Chinese Navy ship "Hai Yangdao" arrives at the Colombo port

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy ship arrived at the Port of Colombo today (October 04) while two Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force ships left for their next port of call. The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) ship ‘Hai Yangdao’ arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill visit today and is scheduled to set sail from the Colombo harbour on the 07th of this month. The 135m long and 18.6m wide PLAN vessel has a displacement of 7,676 tons. Upon its arrival at the Colombo harbour, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander Sha Qi met the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Western Naval Command Headquarters.
