Most Venerable Aluthgama Sri Dhammananda Thero passes away

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Senior Sangha Sabha member of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siam Sect, Most Venerable Aluthgama Sri Dhammananda Thero passed away early this morning (October 02). The thero passed away at the age of 103 at the Kandy General Hospital while undergoing treatment. The final rites will be discussed at a special meeting to be held at the Malwathu Viharaya later this evening (October 02). The body currently lies at a private funeral parlour in Kandy.
