IGP's Scotland visit suspended by Ministry of Law and Order

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Law and Order has decided to suspend the Scotland visit of IGP Pujith Jayasundara. According to the Ministry's Secretary, the altered days for the visit are yet to be decided and said they are yet to decide on other officials who will be visiting Scotland. Recently, the Ministry of Law and Order decided to launch preliminary investigations on IGP Pujith Jayasundara. This was regarding the recent statements made by the IGP to the media. On September 20, 2018, the Ministry appointed a 3 member committee to investigate the matter. This Committee comprises of;
  • Two Additional Secretaries from the Ministry
  • Two Senior Assistant Secretaries
The IGP made a special statement before the committee on September 28, 2018.
