Akurana inundated due to heavy rainfall

Colombo (News1st): The Akurana town in Kandy has been inundated following heavy rainfall this evening (September 29). A heavy downpour that lasted almost the entire day in Badulla has resulted on the Badulu Oya in Halpe reaching spill level. The Meteorological Department says due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the prevailing showery condition is likely to continue during the next few days. It added that heavy rainfall above 100mm is likely to be experienced in several locations around the country on Sunday as well.
