Colombo (News1st): The National Council for Road Safety says the number of train related accidents is on the rise. Its Chairman Dr. Sisira Kodagoda said 241 deaths have been reported from train accidents so far this year (2018).

New statistics reveal that one death occurs every three days due to accidents involving train.

The National Council for Road Safety says a new study to report train accidents and formulate measures to control such conditions have been taken.

The chairman said the report of the study will be referred to the Ministry soon.
