Gotabhaya continues to remain coy of Presidential aspirations

Colombo (News 1st) - Former Secretary of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa spoke to reporters yesterday (September 27), after attending a religious function at the Bata-Kettara Sri Sumanarama Ancient Temple in Piliyandala. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was asked whether he was prepared to take a front seat in the political plans of the Joint Opposition, to which he responded with a hearty laugh. The reporters kept on questioning Gotabaya and asked which of the Rajapaksa brothers would contest the election, Gotabaya once again played coy and simply stated that the decision lies with Mahinda Rajapaksa. When reporters stated that JO members had indicated that the candidate would be Gotabaya, the former defense secretary laughed it off before making an exit.
