Former OIC of Narcotics Rangajeewa released on bail

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former OIC of the Police Narcotic Bureau Inspector Neomal Rangajeewa who was remanded over the Welikada Prison Riots was granted bail by the Court of Appeal. He was charged with the killing of 27 inmates and prisoners at the Welikada Prison in 2012. IP Neomal Rangajeewa was barred from traveling overseas and was released on two surety bails of Rs. 200,000 each. Further, he was ordered to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department every Sunday.
