Colombo (News1st): President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for the United States today to attend the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is being held at the UN Headquarters in New York.
President Sirisena is scheduled to attend the high-level event on Monday (September 24), on the "Global Call to Action on the World Drug Problem".
On the same day, the President will also attend the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit: UNGA High-level Plenary on Global Peace at the UN Headquarters in New York. The President will address the UNGA high-level debate on Tuesday (September 25), on the first day of the debate.
The Head of State will also join a discussion on the 27th to review the success of the measures taken to prevent non-communicable diseases in the international arena.
