COLOMBO (News st) - General Manager of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, D.U. Sumanasekara states that the salinity levels of the water supplied to Kalutara and it's suburbs have exceeded approved levels.
The General Manager said that although salinity levels are high the water could be used for consumption and cleaning purposes and that it poses no health risk.
More than 60,000 families have been affected due to the salinity level of water in the Kalu Ganga.
