COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena has recalled his top envoy to Austria and five other embassy staff for failing to answer his telephone calls. The Sunday Times reported that Ambassador Priyanee Wijesekera was recalled because she had failed to answer the President's calls last week and no responsible officer had been present to respond to the President. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the recall but did not give reasons for the action. The Sri Lankan embassy in Austria is also accredited to the UN agencies in Vienna as well as Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
