112nd Uda Gammana model village vested with public

Colombo (News1st): The 122nd model village built under the "Semata Sevana Yali Pibidena Uda Gammana" project was vested with the public today (September 14). The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Housing and Construction and the Deputy Leader of the United National Party Sajith Premadasa. The village was constructed in Pathuruwella, Padiyathalawa in Ampara is named "Nawahirugama" and comprises of 22 houses. Approximately Rs. 20 million was spent on this project and the village consists of all basic facilities such as electricity, roads, and clean drinking water. Housing loans and ownership deeds were also distributed at the event today. Meanwhile, T.M. Tikiribandara and A.M. Nandawathi who are residents of Padiyathalawa handed over, two acres of private land belonging to them to the Ministry in order to implement more Udagammana projects in the Ampara District.
