Uniform voucher value to be increased

Colombo (News1st): The Ministry of Education has decided to increase the value of the vouchers given to students to purchase uniforms. Secretary to the Ministry of Education Thissa Hewavitharane, said the decision was reached following an islandwide survey. Currently, school uniform vouchers are issued at Rs. 550, Rs. 800, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 1350. He added that the decision will come into effect from this month and that uniform vouchers will be distributed from next month.
