Case against former Civil Aviation Minister postponed

Colombo (News1st): The case filed against former Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne and his private secretary Baala Maanage Dayawansha for causing an unlawful loss to the government was taken up in Court today (September 11). When the case was taken up today, President's Counsel Shavendra Fernando appearing on behalf of the Defendant requested that the hearing be postponed as the case was filed before the Court Of Appeal without prior approval of the three Commissioners of the Bribery Commission. Considering the request, Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered for the case to be postponed until the 19th October.
