Colombo (News1st): The charges for issuing National Identity Cards have been increased with effect from today (September 01).
The Department of Registration of Persons said accordingly a fee of Rs. 100 will be charged from each new applicant.
The fee for amending the details of the National Identity Card is Rs.250. The Ministry added that a fee of Rs.500 will be charged to issue new NICs in place of those that have been stolen or misplaced.
