COLOMBO (News 1st) – Thursday (Aug 30th) marked day 2 of Enterprise Sri Lanka 2018, the national exhibition centered on reconciliation, democracy, and development. The exhibition was officially opened on Thursday (August 30) by Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva and Lakshman Kirella.

The exhibition which has been divided up into 12 zones has 515 trade stalls of both private and public sectors to raise awareness among the public on the implementation of the recently launched interest subsidized loan scheme, Enterprise Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, at a number of media briefings, various views were expressed opposing the Enterprise Sri Lanka exhibition.

UPFA MP, Dilan Perera stated that this was an enterprise only for Mangala Samaraweera, his chief officers and all the other elephants including the brother in law of Viyangoda. MP Dilan also added that this will be of no use for the people of Monaragala.

Also expressing his views, National Organizer of the All Island Peasants’ Federation, Namal Karunarathne stated that massive expenses have been borne for the construction of these houses which have been air-conditioned. Karunarathne also added that billions of rupees have been wasted for the purpose.

Meanwhile, UPFA MP, Namal Rajapaksa stated that the very people that spoke against the Dayata Kirula exhibition are now trying to change the name to English and do the same thing but on a much smaller scale.

Chameera Perera Convenor of the Left Centre stated that taking decisions like this on matters without considering the long-term consequences is similar to what took place during the time of Mahinda Rajapaksa. Perera added that instead of holding exhibitions with huge amounts of money spent on it, why not prioritize the people and find solutions for the issues in water, which is one of the serious issues plaguing the public in Moneragala.
