Scholarships granted to be doubled for the Grade 5 scholarship program

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Education has decided to double the number of scholarships awarded to high performers of the Grade five scholarship exam. The Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Thissa Hewavitharana stated that they currently award 15,000 scholarships and that they hope to increase this up to 30,0000 scholarships. According to the Secretary, the proposal in this regard has been drafted and is due to be presented to the cabinet.
